to Bembridge Harbour
Bembridge Harbour is located at the East end of the Isle of Wight offering easy access to the Solent, Britain's premier yachting area. It is a large natural and well sheltered picturesque harbour and serves as a useful port of departure to leave for the Continent.
The Harbour is adjacent to two attractive villages with good restaurants, shops and facilities. There are some spectacular walks across the Downs and through the surrounding countryside.
The Harbour has two local sailing Clubs - both provide hospitality to visiting yacht. The Bembridge Redwing racing yachts are based here. Also a local sea angling club is based here.
The Harbour facilities include modern shower and toilet facilities plus all boatyard and marine engineering services.
The entrance channel is well buoyed with only the outer buoys lit with a tidal window for boats with a 2m draught of two hours either side of high water.
Resident berth-holders are in Bembridge Marina whilst visiting yachts are berthed in the Duver Marina pontoon. Further berths are available on both the Fishermens' pontoon and the Selwyn pontoon. Multi hull and bilge keel boats can anchor fore and aft on the beach to port when entering the Harbour. Duver Marina has been dredged to 2m MLWS and new pontoons have been added to create additional berthing.
In total the Harbour have in excess of 800 moorings and berths and have recently set up a new business - Bembridge Boat Storage - as a dry stack operation for the storage of ribs and sports boats www.bembridgeboatstorage.co.uk.
There are speed restrictions within the Harbour to 6 knots so as to minimise wash.
